The short answer
NCERT, then Narendra Awasthi levels 1 and 2 for JEE Main, level 3 for JEE Advanced. One numerical book is enough.
The books, by stage
- Narendra Awasthi: the standard graded numerical book, for everyone
- P Bahadur: more volume and a theory recap, for those who want it
- OP Tandon Physical: long theory with worked examples
- Cengage KS Verma: all three branches in one series
How to combine them
NCERT first for every chapter; then one problem book for the chapter; the second book only for JEE Advanced and only after the first is finished. Two books of the same kind in parallel is the common mistake.
Free, legally
NCERT is free from NCERT and is the syllabus. The problem books are paid; their PDFs on download sites are pirated copies, and this hub does not link them.
